About this rental
Our waterfront cottage and attached barn are perched atop the dramatic coastal bluff along Cape Cod Bay with stairs down to our private beach. We have two cottages and a barn on this acre of waterfront land, plus our own staircase down to the private sandy beach.
This rental consists of a two-story fisherman's cottage PLUS an attached tall barn, which contains another two bedrooms plus another bath.
I designed and built the fisherman's cottage almost 30 years ago, using antique doors, fixtures and timbers wherever possible. It consists of 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, eat-in kitchen on first floor with glass doors out to a patio for outdoor dining. There is also a screened in porch on that level. The living room is on second floor with a fireplace and deck looking out over the water.
And there is more! There is a door on the second floor of the cottage that opens onto to the upper levels of the rehabilitated barn. The main room of the barn (my painting studio for years) has a vaulted ceiling and two ten-foot banks of tall windows to the west and east. In that large room is a queen sleeper sofa, a twin day bed plus a tiny kid's room within a room, with little bed and dresser. Above this room is a loft with a queen bed and a view that knock your socks off, day and night. From up there, the moon shine so brightly on the water that it will wake you up some nights!
Some of the one barn bedroom (with the loft above) is what is called a ''captured'' bedroom, meaning that you must walk through a bedroom to reach a bedroom. It's not for everybody, but, for families who just need the extra beds and space and don't care about a sibling walking through their bedroom at night, it works.
To summarize sleeping accommodations: the main cottage has two-bedrooms and two baths, plus a sleeper sofa in the 2nd floor living room; the attached barn has one second floor big, airy living room/bedroom with a twin day bed and queen sleeper sofa, plus a loft above with queen bed.
The eat-in kitchen is on the first floor, with a wide glass slider that opens out onto a private patio for dining. On the other side of the kitchen is a breezy screened in porch.
We love dogs and we are able to accommodate some smaller, mature, hypoallergenic dogs. We charge $250 per small canine guest per week. Please feel free to share details about your dog.
The beach here is spectacular, the water warms up in July and August, sandbars form at low tide -- it is an ocean paradise for young and old, two legged and four-legged.
Also on our bluff is a little antique cottage that shares the beach stairs with the large house. It's a single story ''Sears kit house," delivered by the train that used to run along the bluff, in pre-cut bundles, with instructions, and assembled right there on the bluff in 1901,. Stepping inside the kit house is like stepping back in time. It is available to rent separately if you want to invite another family to join you on vacation but want to retain some privacy from one another at times. Unique Benefits
Unsurpassed view of all of Cape Cod Bay and the outermost "arm" of the Cape. From up top, you are looking down at the water and out at the sky -- it's a spectacular view.
The bay is warmed and calmer than the open ocean side. For dedicated swimmers, you might be pleased that there is no undertow in the Bay.
Why Kids Love It
Exploring the sand bars at lowest tide. Great beach for young swimmers.
Area Information
Atop dramatic coastal bluff on Cape Cod Bay. Walk for miles on sandy beach -- south west to Provincetown or Southeast to Pamet Harbor in Wellfleet. We own a wide swath of beach. Our beach neighborhood is nearly deserted even in July and August!
Attractions Within Walking Distance
Just pop down the beach stairs: it's Cape Cod Bay! The shuttle bus all over the outer Cape will pick you up -- and take your bike if you want -- and bring you to any attractions on the outer Cape and the National Seashore Park. It's a great way to come home from Provincetown in the evening. Biking, you can't go far without getting to another beach -- open Atlantic or sheltered Bay. Take you pick each day.
Favorite Places To Eat
Terra Luna! Ten minute bike ride away. Coast downhill after dinner and ride by the Bay to get back to the cottage
Inside Scoop
Ice cream truck all afternoon outside Salty Market and Chequesset Chocolate.
You will find the best art galleries in the East End of Provincetown, on Commercial and on Bradford.
Para-sailing available near by. Boat and bike rentals by the week or by the day with delivery right to the cottages.

Why this property? From the moment I approached the edge of the bluff, I was a goner! What more stunning view would I find anywhere on Earth? On top of that, the sun sets across the water from us, even though we are on the East Coast! Truly an extraordinary place on our planet. And what a challenge to capture on canvas!
I grew up in New England, in a small town along the Connecticut River. I had many siblings and only a few short trips to the Cape and none to the outermost Cape, which is to me the place to center -- inside that spiraling "arm," near its furtherest tip.
