Welcome aboard The Wheelhouse! Cozy 2 bedroom/1 bathroom cottage is Old Cape Cod charm at its best.

Less than 3/4 mile to Sea Gull Beach, minutes from local shops, restaurants, and attractions, The Wheelhouse offers a peaceful seaside escape. You will enjoy sprawling marsh views while enjoying your morning coffee, or relaxing by the fire pit after a day at the beach. Our family has enjoyed summers in this very village for four generations, we hope that you will love it as much as we do!

Inside our cottage: The open concept family room and dining area greets you with views of Lewis Pond. The primary bedroom includes a queen bed, while the second bedroom offers one twin bed and a bunk bed (twin bed on the top, full bed on the bottom). There is also a queen size futon in the living room. The kitchen is equipped with the basics you will need.

Outdoor space: The outdoor area includes a patio and grilling area perfect for alfresco dining, where you can eat and enjoy the views of the marsh. The secluded fire pit area is our favorite spot to relax! Not to mention a spacious outdoor shower for rinsing off after a day at the beach.

Area Information

Being Mid-Cape, West Yarmouth is an ideal location for visiting the Cape. We are about 25 minutes off the Bridges (Sagamore or Bourne), and you can easily get to all of the Cape Cod areas. Hyannis Harbor is 15 minutes away, offering all types of cuisines, fishing and boating expeditions, ferries to the Islands, and unique shopping. Sea Gull Beach is by far our favorite beach, but a quick ride on 6A will bring you to the Bay side where the sunsets are breathtaking! For the golf enthusiasts, there are four golf courses in Yarmouth alone. Not to mention mini-golf courses for the whole family. The Whydah Pirate Museum on MA-28 in West Yarmouth showcases the largest pirate collection every recovered from a single shipwreck. The Cape Cod National Seashore is 40 minutes away, with 40 miles of pristine sandy beaches, ponds, walking and biking trails. Or, check out one of the 6 lighthouses across Cape Cod that are open to the public. There is something for everyone!

About the owner: We are Andrea and Bob, and we are so happy to host you! For generations, our family has been enjoying summers in West Yarmouth; spending the days swimming at Sea Gull Beach, and enjoying everything that Cape Cod has to offer. When we started dating, I took Andrea to Sea Gull beach and she was hooked! It has become our happy place. When our son was born, we wanted nothing more than for him to have the same experiences that I was lucky enough to have, and in 2022 we made our dream come true by purchasing The Wheelhouse. Our home offers a comfortable and serene retreat, less than 3/4 mile to beautiful Sea Gull Beach. Our goal is to provide guests with a clean and comfortable place to make lasting Cape memories. We hope that you choose to stay with us!

Why this property? We purchased our home specifically for its location and proximity to Sea Gull Beach. The Wheelhouse is conveniently located 3/4 mile to Sea Gull Beach, close to area restaurants, Hyannis Harbor, and easy access to the main highway. Our home is situated on Lewis Pond and offers marsh views. We love the quiet village it's located in, with tennis courts and dock access. Our backyard has a great fire pit area with water views, a spacious outdoor shower, and a grilling and dining area for alfresco dining. Inside, we have kept some of the original Cape Cod charm, but have made some modern improvements.

[Copied From WeNeedAVacation Listing] My husband and I just finished our stay at "The Wheelhouse". If you are looking for a quaint Cape Cod beach cottage in a nice quiet location, this is it! The cottage was very clean and the kitchen was equipped with the necessities to prepare our own meals. The mini-split heat/AC units in every room provided for a very comfortable stay. The bed in the main bedroom was very comfortable. We absolutely loved the roomy outdoor shower. No need to use the indoor one when you can shower under the stars! There is a nice view of Lewis Pond from the fire pit area and Seagull Beach is just a short drive away. The cottage is in a great location, and the hosts left a welcome bucket and booklet, with many great recommendations for places to eat and attractions to see. The hosts were readily available to answer any questions. We would highly recommend staying at "The Wheelhouse" and are looking forward to our next visit.

This place is a classic cape cod beach cottage. It's in a great location, close to the beach and many restaurants. My favorite part of the cottage is the outdoor shower and the waterfront views. I would recommend the wheelhouse to anyone looking for a classic cape cod beach getaway.

This historical neighborhood is absolutely adorable - safe, quiet, and tidy. We loved the Wheelhouse for it's waterfront views, easy parking, spacious back yard, huge outdoor shower and it's location cannot be beat - restaurants, shopping, ice cream, grocery store and Sea Gull beach are all within a 5-8 minute drive. We decided to spend a week there and were looking for a cottage with the charm of old cape cod in a peaceful setting yet close to town. We found exactly that at the Wheelhouse. The location is great. The yard offers a nice view of Lewis Pond in a park-like setting. We enjoyed the short bike ride to Seagull Beach and brief car ride to the Melody Tent and Hyannis Harbor. We also had a great time kayaking on the Bass River - just up the road! Our host was gracious and made sure we had everything needed to enjoy our vacation. We highly recommend the Wheelhouse cottage. Near air conditioning units were amazing and kept the cottage very cool! All the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was very well stocked with dishes bowls cutlery pots pans and included a keurig along with spices, oils, pam spray etc! Setting was so peaceful and quiet with a beautiful view of the water inlet! My 4 year old grandson loved walking over to the little pier (which is great for kayak users) and to the swing set! And Sea Gull beach was so close and a beautiful beach with life guards, bathrooms and concession stand! Thank you Bob for a wonderful Cape Cod vacation! Karen

[Copied from WeNeedAVacation Listing] We stayed at the Wheel House Labor Day weekend 2022 in West Yarmouth. We enjoyed our stay very much. A 5 minute drive to the beach, the location was perfect. There's plenty of dining options right down the street as well. It was peaceful, with even a view of the bay from the backyard. It was a very comfortable fit for our family of 4, and our young kids loved sleeping in the bunk room! The beds were comfortable, and there's both an indoor and outdoor shower. There was plenty of hot water for everyone to wash the sand off after the beach, and it was a highlight to use the outdoor shower at night under the stars! The cottage was very clean, freshly painted, night and bright inside. We enjoyed our dinners outside at the beautiful handmade oversized picnic table. The owners were very responsive and working with them was a pleasant experience. We are very happy with our time spent at the Wheel House and would absolutely consider staying here again!

Wheelhouse Cottage

Everything was perfect! I plan to return again. Tha view of the marshes and pond were gorgeous. The cottage is very well appointed and maintained. Power Bobby very kind and accommodating. You won’t go wrong with this one

Great getaway

My family and I enjoyed our week at this lovely immaculate, cottage . It has great water views and is very quiet and peaceful. Very close to the beach. We would definitely recommend it and hope to stay there again.

Great spot!

Our family of 5 spent a week at The Wheelhouse in July. Great location with amazing views of the marsh from the fire pit seating area. This was a favorite spot of ours. The house is very clean. Having all the linens and towels provided was a huge plus. The outdoor shower is great, newly updated and clean! We would definitely stay here again!

The Wheelhouse

We enjoyed our stay, everything was clean. The owners were great, very responsive, extremely helpful. Would love to stay there again in the future. Extremely close to Seagull Beach and about a 15/20 minute drive to Mayflower Beach. Great neighborhood for children, everyone was extremely friendly.

I recently stayed at the Wheelhouse, a cozy cottage with a wonderful water view in West Yarmouth, MA, and it was a fantastic experience. The location was perfect, offering beautiful ocean views and being just a short walk from Sea Gull Beach. The cottage itself was clean, well-maintained, and had a charming, cozy feel.
